Wow, it has been a while since I posted last, time has flown by. Here are some things that have been done over the last several weeks.

Finished laying oak flooring in the entry way to the 2 lofts, finished all the stairs as well, and insulated the walls and ceiling.

I reclaimed some old wood from the basement and used it to cover the ceiling going up the stairs to the lofts

Here is looking down to the street from the stairs to the Lofts. Notice the brick work on the upper left and side. I had to put on my Mason hat to make the wall fire rated, for some reason the brick didn't go all the way up to the rafters. All lights I will use in this place will be salvaged from other buildings, I painted these a nice vintage industrial green.

Finished slab, I spend most of yesterday an all of today cutting stress joints, they are in a grided patern. So they will look like large tiles and I will acid stain it and seal it with a glossy finish to give it a beautiful look.

Poured 11 yards of concrete, in an 1100 sq ft room. We had 4 laborers running wheel barrow at a time though the 36 inch door (I was a laborer), Then I had 3 finishers to make it level and pretty. You can see 2 finishers crawling the floor in the back corner.

Richard and I hauled in about 9.5 tons of gravel into this room with wheel barrows through the door.

leveled floor then layed gravel, then layed rebar, don't have a photo of rebar.

Patching the floors in the lofts, The hardwood floors upstairs had gaps in them where the walls used to be, rather than pulling up all of the floor I decided to patch it so you could see where the walls used to be. I think it will have character and history and once they are sanded and refinished they will look great.

patched old stairway with pine. should match one sanded and stained. When I got the building there was basically a hole in the floor here.
